Canning factories often regard cherry stones as a waste product. We collect these stones from all the canning factories in the Netherlands and Belgium and give them a second life.
Pitcompany carefully washes the cherry stones we collect. This process removes all remnants of fruit pulp and other contaminants, which is essential to make the stones suitable for further processing.
After washing, the cherry stones undergo a unique drying process we have developed ourselves. This ensures that the stones retain their natural properties, making them ideal for various applications in both the creative sector and the wellness industry.

Pitcompany Coremans was founded as the result of a chance encounter. Cees Coremans, who was involved in the drying of flower bulbs, was asked by a canning factory whether he could do anything with their cherry stone waste.
There were strong similarities between drying flower bulbs and drying cherry stones, and Cees saw a unique opportunity with this. He decided to take on the challenge and develop an innovative approach with which he could transform a waste product into a valuable raw material.
